How to bear Illness

Being ill sucks, I should know having been ill for the last two days (this is where you start awing sympathetically.) No, you can’t make being ill fun unless you’re a unicorn who shoots positivity out its horn but you can make it bearable, board line good. For that mission I have a few tips.

1. Watch old cartoons and films – In this world we are constantly doing, making sick days the perfect opportunity to relax and do nothing. Grab your high school musical box set, a fuzzy blanket and set up camp on the sofa. If nobody is home you might even get away with singing along!

2. CHOCOLATE – The cure the NHS won’t tell you about. Cadburys is proven to cure cramps, colds, aches and migraines. Ditch healthy eating for a day and treat yourself.

3. Comfy PJ’s – Clean, comfy (and preferably tumble dried,) PJ’s will automatically boast your mood. Even if you’re not leaving the house get into fresh pyjamas. Your feel a lot better. Extra points if they have a cute cartoon character on them!

4. Pamper yourself – If your ill chances are you feel a bit blah. Combat the power of ickiness with a warm bath or refreshing face mask. Bath’s will help unblock the nasal passage (I know – a bit TMI,) and a minty face mask will refresh and wake you up.  If it helps paint your nails or style yourself. Loving yourself mentally with a bit of you time will help you love yourself physically.

5. Drink plenty – If you have a sore throat you need to drink plenty to help hydrate it, but drinking will help you in all aspects of curing illness. Whether it’s a massive glass of water or Lucozade for an added energy boast stay hydrated. You don’t want to have two health issues.

6. Sleep – If all else fails sleep! Your body obviously needs rest to recharge. Take it easy. I know that’s hard in our busy world but you won’t get better rushing around and tiring yourself out.

Just remember to ALWAYS follow medical advice. Not only am I not a doctor but I am also the worst patient! Sorry for being a massive hypocrite, as I rarely sleep and drink plenty during illness. If you are ill possibly seek  medical help, do as doctors and nurses tell you and take it easy.

Get well soon,
Freya <3
